PORTER PLACE MEN'S SHELTER - (length of stay is 6 weeks)

An emergency shelter for homeless men providing residents with:

l..support to find and maintain affordable housing
l..accommodation and food
l..supportive individual counselling
l..assessment
l..referral to appropriate treatment programs and community services

YORK REGION YOUTH SHELTER - (length of stay is 4 months)

An emergency shelter for males between the ages of 16 and 26 providing residents with:

l..support to find and maintain affordable housing
l..accommodation and food
l..supportive counselling
l..referral to appropriate community services
l..job search assistance
l..life skill learning opportunities

As part of the Community Housing Support Program at each of our three shelters, we work with residents to find, get and keep affordable housing. Services include:

l..assistance to obtain identification
l..connection and mediation with landlords
l..budget/financial planning
l..service referral
l..assistance with housing search
