EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT:
The Executive Assistant coordinates two major areas: administrative support to management and Blue Door Shelters’ Public Relations activities. This role assumes responsibility for the coordination of business unit initiatives and the provision of research and background information necessary to facilitate executive action and decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree and 2-3 years of experience in a related field
- Knowledge of the Emergency Shelter System and relevant government regulations
- Writing skills to prepare executive correspondence for the Executive Director's signature, create detailed and executive summary reports and briefing notes
- Interactive/questioning skills to conduct research and obtain background information for the development of position papers, status reports, written responses to inquiries and politically sensitive or highly confidential issues
- Planning, organization and scheduling skills to manage own daily work and responsibilities
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong computer knowledge
- Proven ability to work effectively with different people in a professional and discrete manner
- Comfortable adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Superior discretion, judgment, tact, diplomacy, creativity and initiative. Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills.

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER:
The Human Resources Manager will implement human resource management strategies, policies and practices to manage the human resource functions for both staff and volunteers. The position is responsible for ensuring that the provision of human resources services are efficient, effective and reflect best practice standards. The Human Resources Manager will contribute to the HR practices and to the success of the organization by providing ongoing feedback and designing new approaches.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree in Business Administration or a Human Resource related discipline
- CHRP designation or working toward a CHRP designation
- 3-5 years of experience in various areas of Human Resources, preferably within a unionized, Non Profit setting
- Demonstrated experience and training in volunteer management
- Understanding of benefits administration
- Works well with staff at all levels. Always exercises discretion and maintains confidentiality
- Excellent leadership, planning, organizational and communication skills are required
- Understanding and delivery of anti-oppressive practices
- Computer proficiency in a Windows environment with Microsoft Software
- Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and creative problem-solving skills

Reporting to the Business Director, the Fund Development Manager supports fundraising and fund development services that ensure the continuation of Blue Door Shelters programs and continued operation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years experience in fundraising, fund development, communications
- Degree or diploma in a relevant discipline
- Demonstrated success initiating fundraising activities & meeting goals
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication & resource-management skills
- Motivated to meet self-imposed due dates
- Proven success writing & producing print & e-newsletters, and grants
- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, social networking
- Working knowledge of office computer software applications
- Understanding and promotion of anti-oppressive practices
- Fluency in a second language

SUPPORT SERVICES SUPERVISOR:
Reporting to the Business Director, the Support Services Supervisor directs, coordinates and delivers support services required for effective program delivery and facilities management. This includes food services, building/property maintenance, client transportation, supplies purchasing and inventory control. To function as a member of the Management Team, the incumbent will ensure that the agency’s goals, policies and procedures are met and adhered to. The Support Services Supervisor will participate in the agency’s planning process and represent the Agency at various committees and meetings in the community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree or college diploma in a related discipline
- Supervisory experience in an organized labour environment
- 3 years minimum experience in Facilities Management, and superior knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations
- Excellent coaching, team building and conflict resolution skills
- Understanding of issues relating to homelessness
- Solid computer skills, (including Microsoft Office)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- WHIMIS Training/CPR/CPI
- Fluency in a language other than English

RESIDENTIAL COUNSELLOR (Casual/Relief):
Responsible for the successful daily operation of a residential program. Operates house in accordance with agency policies and procedures; maintain appropriate record keeping, complete intake/discharge forms, maintain security for residents/staff/facilities, goal setting and referrals to other resources, participate in housekeeping duties including food preparation and cleaning, informal individual and group counselling, promote co-operative living.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum SSW or 2-year college diploma in a human services program.
- Experience working with the homeless or similar population.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in a second language.
- Experience in telephone and in-person counselling.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
- Understanding and delivery of anti-oppressive practices.
- Ability to deal effectively with conflict and crisis.
- Operate with a flexible work schedule.
- CPI, CPR and Vulnerable Screening Clearance (Police Check).
- Reliable vehicle, valid driving licence and insurance.
Hourly starting salary: Residential Counsellor $15.54
